Three steps to manage collaboration devices in your employee’s home office with Crestron.

As the hybrid work model becomes standard, many employees are finding value in equipping their home offices to match the flow and capabilities of their office in the workplace. The natural challenge here is that work from home employees likely outnumber the IT staff in the average workplace which can place a significant strain on an IT team to keep up with the challenge.

 

Thankfully, Crestron – one of our key partners has made the process of establishing a collaboration device for your at-home employees so simple that it can be summarized in three steps.

 

We’ll use this example from Crestron featuring the Crestron Flex Phone:

1. Start by adding (i.e., claiming) the Crestron Flex Phone via your XiO Cloud® IoT-based provisioning and management service. Collect the MAC address and the serial number of the Crestron Flex Phone assigned to the employee. Optionally, if your company assigns the asset tag, you’ll have this recorded before sending the device to the employee.

 

2. Ship the Crestron Flex Phone to the employee. Once the employee plugs it into their home network, it automatically connects to your XiO Cloud environment and receives configuration instructions and any pending firmware updates.

 

3. From then on, use XiO Cloud as a single pane of glass to manage your employees’ Crestron Flex Phones in their homes. If anything goes wrong, you can receive alerts and easily update settings remotely.

From there, it’s as simple as utilizing Crestron’s XiO Cloud to facilitate daily management and monitoring of all the devices being used at home through one dashboarding that provides reporting, logging, live status, viewing, alerts, performance methods, analytics, and more. The solution is even scalable, allowing you to add more features and functionality as the needs arise.
