RingCentral makes cloud migration more flexible with BYOC

RingCentral has just announced BYOC or Bring Your Own Carrier. Built specifically for larger enterprise users, RingCentral hopes to address several complexities in terms of moving to the cloud.

For example, an enterprise may be amid multi-year agreements with carriers that would not be cost-effective to interrupt. Additionally, they may have locations in regions where phones need to stay on-premises to maintain compliance standards. Considering many multi-national enterprises implement a phased approach to their switch to the cloud, Ring Central believes that BYOC empowers IT to manage cut-overs from legacy systems piece by piece while still allowing rollbacks if anything goes wrong.

RingCentral describes the advantages of BYOC as:

  1. It’s flexible. You can enjoy the benefits of RingCentral MVP while still maintaining existing carrier contracts, numbers, and rates for less hassle during migration.
  2. Wide global coverage. Any multi-national enterprise with staff outside of RingCentral’s 44+ supported countries can still use RingCentral MVP, alongside their local carrier relationship.
  3. Full Control. BYOC provides full control over connectivity, call routing, calling plans, E911 services, and more.

Additional advantages include avoiding early termination fees, streamlining the user experience, leveraging your current infrastructure, and more.

Ultimately, RingCentral’s BYOC brings added flexibility and options to the cloud migration necessary to meet the everchanging needs that the new standard of a hybrid work model brings.
