How much does it cost: Zoom Room Classroom

Zoom Classroom

One of the top questions we’re asked is “How much does it cost?” We understand the thought process behind this question. Who doesn’t care about the cost? The truth is, we’re all consumers in certain circumstances, and typically the first thing any of us look at is the price tag. The internet has provided a comprehensive solution to this age-old purchasing practice, but there is the pricing for certain industries and solutions for which even the internet has trouble providing clear answers. One of those industries is the commercial AV industry.

Why is it so hard to find the costs for integrated AV solutions?

The truth is, the answer is a bit complicated. There are so many moving parts that go into certain solutions that make it challenging to provide a ballpark in some instances. However, it’s also true that, for a variety of reasons, many integrators are nervous about revealing their prices. We won’t spend too much time on why that is but what we will say is, we want to be the exception to this trend. For the solutions that are possible to ballpark pricing on, we’re looking to provide that answer. That’s why we’re introducing a new series on our Knowledge platform in which we offer some basic solutions that will apply to a variety of organizations. We’ll discuss the need for the solution, our answer to the need and ultimately what you can budget the overall cost should be for a standard package that meets that need.

Both educators and parents have learned very quickly the value of a quality distance learning plan. As many organizations are utilizing Zoom for their Video Communication, we thought this would be a great time to provide some budgetary information on converting your classroom into a capable and effective Zoom Room.

Converting your classroom to a Zoom Room provides an educator with the ability to quickly and easily initiate, host and participate in Zoom meetings. This particular solution is designed to create an interactive experience for the teacher, the students in the classroom and any students or fellow educators participating remotely. This solution assumes that you have an existing central display in your classroom that you’re currently using to present content. It provides two additional displays, one for the teacher to use as a reference monitor and one for students who may be a bit farther from the main display at the front of the room. Zoom is a software-based platform so the solution includes a dedicated PC, as well as an iPad to provide all the controls of the Zoom Meeting. Two USB PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras provide video for both the teacher and the students, four ceiling microphones and six ceiling speakers provide the audio. All equipment would be stored cleanly in a secured rack.

This includes all the equipment listed with shipping and 1 year of Maintenance coverage.

As with any of the articles in this series, this is primarily for budgetary purposes, but both the design and pricing have come from our engineering team. They are based on real quotes we’ve developed for our education clients.
