A NEW FLAG BRIEFING ROOM
In February of 2010, Vicom was awarded the audio-visual
solution for the new NETWARCOM Flag Briefing Room
at the headquarters in Norfolk, VA. Vicom worked
with the customer to provide all required audio-visual
capabilities including classified & unclassified
HD videoconferencing by Polycom. Simple control
of all system components was provided through a
Crestron touch panel system. Classified and unclassified
computer connections were provided including a guest
laptop connection at the credenza. A Smart Overlay
was included to provide comprehensive annotation
and briefing capabilities.
For this project an older conference room was renovated.
The new conference room was updated with current
technology providing the customer with enhanced
capabilities.
Vicom installed two commercial NEC LCD monitors
for the main displays. Vicom designed and installed
the room based upon the customer's requirements
and received an "all 10's" post installation
evaluation.
The customer stated that "VICOM did a SUPERB
job on the Flag Briefing Room, the Facility is utilized
many times every working day! Vicom has a team of
true professionals."
Vicom installed all of
the conference room electronics in an equipment
credenza; which
provided a clean appearance, while providing simple
equipment access. The equipment racks have the capability
to be pulled out and rotated for complete serviceability.
The 3 person installation and programming team of
Mickey Wiley, Allen Calderon and Michael Waldbaum
provided a clean, professional installation; with
user friendly control capability.
The equipment utilized for this project included:
Polycom HD videoconferencing, Extron interfaces
and switching, Crestron control, CIS secure switching,
NEC commercial LCD displays, Smart Technologies
Interactive LCD Overlay, Middle Atlantic equipment
racks and an LG Bluray Player. |
